Beginners to Rhino?
If you are a beginner to this software, welcome and don't be worried. The software is very easy to learn, and it does not take too much time to get familiarized. I can help you with the process, from download to mastering the tool. Here are a few things to help you start:
1) Computer
You do not need a super hi-performance computer, but a good graphics card is important. If you need help with which laptop to buy, you can check out this laptop list. I would also highly recommend getting an extra monitor screen. Once you start getting proficient with this program, it would be difficult to live with only one screen.
2) Rhino License
You will need to purchase a license to download Rhino. The license for Mac and Windows is $995. I understand that it's expensive, but for what it can do comparing to other alternate software out there in the market with compatible features, it's actually quite reasonable. If you are a student/ teacher, you can even get the program for $195 with no difference in its performance.
3) Tutorial Links
I learnt most of my techniques on Youtube. Here are some of the best videos I found online to help you start learning the basics:
Adam's videos are great. It covers a lot of ground without much bs.
Rhino Essentials is another source of great videos. These ones are a little longer and slower, and so might be easier to follow.
SubD (Best for Industrial Designers and creating smooth organic objects)
Feel free to connect if you need help with technical difficulties, interface between software for 3D printing or other rapid prototyping needs. I’m happy to help.
