What I Do

Portfolio Consulting

Your portfolio is the most powerful tool for getting your dream school, job or client. If curated carefully and effectively, it will open doors to any number of academic and professional endeavors. Learning how to create a design portfolio that speaks to your ideal audience and present your best self requires careful consideration and formatting. I helped students and emerging professionals prepare their portfolios for college and job applications. It's a tedious process and I've been through it many times myself. I've been fortunate enough to go to great schools and am currently the hiring team at my firm reviewing a bunch of portfolios. I’d like to share with you the insights I've developed through the years. Simply presenting good work is not enough. Let’s work together to show the world what you can do!

College Application

When it comes to college admissions, one size doesn’t fit all. My sessions with you will ensure your application is tailored to your academic, cultural, and professional background, and which schools you are applying to. I have been part college admission committees and am very familiar with the process. I can help you with your essays, ace your interviews, win scholarships. If you need help brainstorming your topic, crafting your words, redlining and strategic edits, or to pat you on the back and pop open the champagne bottle when you hit the submit button, I’m here to help. Please also check out the Portfolio Section. The essay and portfolio work hand in hand to present the full image of who you are. You want to be consistent in your presentation. Schedule a free consultation, and let’s get that letter starting with Congratulations!

Job Application

Need help with your resume or cover letter? I’m a practicing architect who is also serving at my firm’s hiring committee. Like school, not all firms are the same. I’ve worked at corporate firms, star architect firms, big firms, small firms, local firms, international firms, and have even started my own practice. I am very keen on the market with a sizable network of connections in many of the world’s top firms. I understand what hiring managers are looking for and how companies work. I can provide insights to improve your chances in the job market. Schedule a free call to see if we are a good fit. What do you have to lose?

Career Development

You might not be sure about pursuing architecture since eighth grade…or maybe you are. Architecture is a broad field with many specialties and even more alternate career paths. I, myself, question everyday whether I would like to continue being an architect. If you are unfamiliar with the difference between BArch vs BFA vs BSc or why you have to do MArch 1 instead of MArch 2; if you want to know more about the torture of AREs, or how to get your AXP hours signed; or if you are just not sure whether you can be an architect because you cannot do physics or maths; let’s have a call to talk it through. I have worked in many different firms, started my own practice, and worked with contractors to get my design built. I can share with you what it’s like maneuvering the waters of the profession.

And for those considering an alternate path. Then, fellow architect, please come say Hi. Let’s connect in the virtual or the physical world; we’ll share our laughs and sorrows, and see where the path leads.

Studio Help

Struggling with your studio? No idea what to do for your Thesis? I received a lot of questions about how to generate and develop a concept for design projects, and how to justify a design strategy. Generating one with meaning and depth is very difficult and it takes time, research, and many iterations. I will walk with you through the fundamentals of generating a concept, understanding your program, studying your site, and coming up with a narrative to better present your projects. This is a struggle but also the fun part of architecture that we lose sleep over. Let’s make this a fun process together where you learn and enjoy the process. Don’t stress, we got this.

Software Training

Rhino, Enscape, Adobe CS, AutoCAD, Lasercutting, 3D Prints. Whether you are a beginner or that you need something troubleshooted, I can help you resolve technical difficulties. I work with these programs on a daily basis, delivery projects at high standards. Have a lot of tips as well as shortcuts/templates that I can share with you on bettering your designs in studio. I can also help you with interfaces between the software, and will provide tips for more efficient workflow.
